1 lb. dried pinto beans, washed and drained
Cover with water, boil 1 minute. Turn off heat and let stand 1 hour. Cook 45 minutes (until tender). Remove excess water. Mash with mixer (may leave some lumps if desired.
Add approx. 1 T chili powder
1 t cumin
1 t garlic powder.
Makes about 4 cups.
Easy to double and freeze some for later use.
